Center for Women in Business

On Thursday, February 28th, we will host our 2nd Annual CWB Summit and Research Release, Advancing Women to the Top. We have whole slate of interesting business leaders speaking at the event.  Delivering the keynote address at the summit will be Tamara Lundgren, President and CEO of Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc.

Schnitzer, one of the largest manufactures and exporters of recycled ferrous metal products in the United States, named Lundgren their President and CEO in 2008. She oversees $3.5 billion in annual revenue and 57 operating facilities in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. Before her promotion, Lungdren had also served as Chief Strategy Officer, as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, dating back to 2005. Her pre-Schnitzer experience includes managing director roles at JPMorgan Chase in London and Deutsche Bank AG in New York and London.

Lundgren also serves on the executive committee of OHSU Foundation and the James Beard Foundation. This graduate of Wellesley College and Northwestern University School of Law was named the Portland Business Journal’s 2010 Woman Executive of the Year.

Needless to say, we are very excited to have Tamara Lundgren speaking at our summit next month.  We hope you can join us.
