It’s Wednesday, here’s what’s making news this week:
- Here’s a global win for women: Women in emerging nations are climbing the corporate ladder very quickly. In markets like Brazil, companies are open to mentoring and appreciate creativity – things women bring to the table at a high rate in businesses. Read more here.
- America’s economy is in an upswing, which begs the question – how can female entrepreneurs and business owners take advantage? One tip is to know your financials and set solid goals for them. Others include get involved and don’t fear failure. For the full list of tips, go here.

- So far in 2014 two women – Janet Yellen of the Federal Reserve and Mary Barra of General Motors – have assumed top roles in huge companies. And while this is a good thing, there is still room for growth. Carla Harris, who’s worked on Wall Street for 25 years and chairs the National Women’s Business council, remains optimistic, urging women to realize success relies on many factors and they shouldn’t fear the early stages of their career.
