60 Female Executives Share Their Secrets to Success

It’s Wednesday, here’s what’s making news this week:

  • Lauren Ready of the International Consortium of Executive Development Research knew the best way to get advice for women in the workforce about propelling their careers forward would be to go straight to the source. So, she surveyed 60 of the top female executives around the globe and had them define success and how to achieve it. Some of their advice? Be flexible and don’t try to be one of the guys.   • Optimism is a beautiful thing. While female entrepreneurs continue to face some obstacles, 90% remain upbeat about their overall business performance in 2014. Read more details here.
  • Women are a key component of the global economy. Worldwide, they control 70% of consumer spending. Women are more likely to funnel their earnings back into their families and communities. But a gender gap still exists in many aspects of the world. Walmart plans to double its sourcing from women-owned enterprises by means of its Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative.
