Women Redefining America

April 24, 2014

It’s Wednesday, here’s what’s making news this week:

The WomenCorporateDirectors Global Institute will gather these top business women May 13-15 to discuss ideas and challenges facing boards today, and how to seize opportunities. For a list of speakers and more general information, go here.
  • If you thought the average leisure traveler was a young male, think again. The average is actually a 47-year-old female, and in fact, women will make 80% of travel decisions this year alone. To capitalize on this, Doni Belau founded Girls Guide to Paris, a website fully targeted to this demographic. Read more about Girls Guide to Paris.
  • Executive Communications Coach Mary Civiello isn’t surprised there’s a confidence gap when it comes to men and women in the workforce. She also does not approve, and offers insight on how to narrow the gap once and for all. Focusing less on appearance and speaking up are just two tips from Civiello. To read more, go here.
