The Boston Red Sox are proud to host a GE-sponsored Hiring our Heroes Opportunity Fair for all military job seekers from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at historic Fenway Park. Employers with available jobs will be meeting candidates, interviewing, filling available positions across all sectors.

This exclusive hiring fair is open ONLY to active duty military, veterans, members of the National Guard and reserve components, and military spouses.

There is no cost for job seekers to attend. Job seekers who pre-register for this event will be issued a complimentary game ticket for the evening match-up between the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays. All job seekers will be asked to provide proof of military service in order to receive the game ticket.

Attendees are encouraged to take public transportation, as Hiring Our Heroes is unable to make parking accommodations given the preponderance of public transit and the limited availability of free parking.

While you are an honored guest at this sporting event, acceptance of this ticket means that you accept all of the terms of attendance at the game in accordance of the rules of Fenway Park. If attendance exceeds expectations, we cannot guarantee ticket availability, so register early!

In order to receive your game ticket, you will be asked to provide proof of military service, whether this be a VA benefits card, DD-214, active military ID, etc. Please make sure you bring this with you. If you bring a DD-214 or other paperwork that does not include a photo, please make sure you also bring photo identification.

Job seeker registration and service verification will begin starting at 9:30 a.m. in advance of admission to the hiring fair.

Job seekers who register for the GE Employment Workshop will be able to check in between 8:00 a.m. and 8:25 in advance of the workshop start at 8:30 a.m. In order to attend the workshop, you will need to make plans to arrive during this time in order to check in. Otherwise, you will be asked to wait until registration, check-in, and service verification for the hiring fair begins at 9:30 a.m. Upon conclusion of the workshop at 10:00 a.m., all job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with GE’s human resources professionals for mock interviews, one-on-one career counseling, and resume review.

The hiring fair will run from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Please plan accordingly - you will not be able to stay at the venue between the time the hiring fair closes and the time the gates open for admission to the game that evening.

A very limited number of veterans service organizations may also be admitted – please understand that the focus of this event will be on employers who are actively recruiting for available positions. VSO attendance will be coordinated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Red Sox – if you are a VSO who is requesting special consideration, please email

GE Employment Workshop

The employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning an hour and a half prior to the hiring fair, followed by GE's own veteran employees conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).
