Jessica Josephine Synkoski is a sustainability practitioner with more than a decade of experience across the pharmaceutical and aerospace and defense industries. She joined AstraZeneca in 2017 to support its aspiration to improve the lives of 200 million patients by 2025. On the Sustainability Strategy & Engagement team at AstraZeneca she prioritizes balanced sustainability disclosures, influential annual reporting, and value-added stakeholder engagement strategies.
Prior to her current role, she was the manager of Corporate Sustainability for Lockheed Martin. She supported the implementation of a company-wide sustainability strategy, the annual sustainability report process, as well as the company’s sustainability stakeholder engagements. She supported the company’s first sustainability materiality assessment, first external advisory panel, first GRI-compliant report, and first inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Jessica joined the company in 2011 as a manager of corporate philanthropy where she managed charitable activities, oversaw the corporate foundation, and developed grant partnerships to help veterans and military families.
Jessica worked previously at United Technologies Corporation where she served as manager of Corporate Citizenship and Community Investment and at General Mills conducting internal sales analysis and trade communications.
Jessica holds an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management and a B.S. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Certificate in Corporate Citizenship Management from Boston College Carroll School of Management and an International Society of Sustainability Professionals-Sustainability Associate certification.
