Kathryn Williams Traver is vice president of operations at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Traver builds organizational growth across the Foundation’s programs and oversees its operations, including administration, finances, governance, human resources, and legal activities. She is an officer of the Foundation’s board of directors.
In 2004, Traver joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Center for Corporate Citizenship. There she worked with corporate responsibility officers from across the country and directed programs and operations. Traver moved into her current role in 2012 and led the transition of four U.S. Chamber 501(c)(3) affiliates into one new organization: the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Traver was an officer of the boards of the Business Civic Leadership Center, the National Chamber Foundation, and the Policy Forum Endowment Fund.
Previously, Traver worked in the television broadcasting and cable networks industry. She spent a decade in advertising sales and marketing with Katz Media Group, WJLA TV Washington’s ABC affiliate, OVATION The Arts Network during its startup phase, and Discovery Communications. At Discovery, Traver worked on the network side of the business as well as on the company’s signature corporate social responsibility initiative—the Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership.
Traver is a graduate of Villanova University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. In addition, she attended executive leadership programs at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Traver lives with her husband and son in Bethesda, Maryland.
