As a megatrend, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or "Drones," have been growing at a rapid pace in society's consciousness. Commercial drones, in particular, have also demonstrated their value as indispensable tools in disaster response. Examples include to accelerate recovery efforts after natural disasters to help repair the electrical grid or aid first responders, and also to deliver packages for new levels of social distance or to spray disinfectant from the air to kill the virus. This session is a brief discussion on the state of the UAS industry, how UAS are used when disaster strikes, and how drone companies adapt to COVID while using drones against COVID.
