Matt has been with EY‘s Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) practice for almost ten years. He worked with EY in the UK for five years, followed by three years establishing the Middle East and North Africa CCaSS practice before joining the EY Americas team in April 2014. Prior to his time at EY, Matt led corporate programs at an organization focused on supporting complex decision making and disclosures in areas such as nuclear and offshore oil and gas decommissioning. 
He is an accomplished sustainability practitioner helping clients find solutions to complex issues and challenges. His experience lies in developing and implementing programs targeted at improving business performance in areas such as sustainability strategy and reporting, social license to operate, environmental risk, stakeholder management and risk response. He has a background in enriching stakeholder engagement and deriving value from sustainable decision making. He has particular experience in the energy industry, throughout the value chain. 
He has advised clients on health, safety and environmental (HSE) and social risks and reporting across global markets as part of his work to deliver confidence in disclosed performance, as well as advising clients on areas such as governance, community investment, sustainability cost accounting and measurement. 
Matt has conducted non-financial reviews and audits for global clients such as across energy, financial and industrial sectors, providing external assurance on their sustainability, HSE and social reporting as well as management insight on sustainability strategy and governance. 
He has developed multiple enterprise wide sustainability control framework solutions. These frameworks were designed to deliver confidence to departments that specific processes were performing optimally and in line with agreed targets. 
Matt has led internal audit sustainability reviews across the energy sector, focusing on key environment, social and governance risks to the business, control frameworks, mitigation strategy development and process and policy review. 
Matt is a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor and holds degrees in Environmental Management, Information Systems and Industrial Psychology.
