With nearly 20 years of experience, Melanie Scheet is a leading expert in student-focused, industry-driven educational programs.
At Universal Technical Institute (UTI), the nation’s leading provider of training for transportation technicians, Ms. Scheet helps develop and direct some of the education industry’s most respected student support and employment services initiatives. During her tenure, the company has built partnerships with thousands of local employers, who support and hire UTI graduates. Most recently, she helped architect the Early Employment initiative, a first-of-its-kind hybrid program that marries proven post-secondary skills education with apprenticeship-type on-the-job training.
In addition, she supports student participation in advanced courses that allow them to earn credentials in specific manufacturers’ vehicles and technology, including BMW, Ford, GM, Freightliner, Mercedes-Benz, Peterbilt, Porsche and more. She helps lead local student and employment services teams across UTI’s 12-campus nationwide network, including teams dedicated to assisting U.S. military veteran students.
Ms. Scheet has been with UTI since 2002 and has held a number of leadership positions in education, admissions, financial aid and student services. She holds a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Social Work (Summa Cum Laude) from Fort Hays State University.
