Tami Majer joined Danone in April 2017 as Head of HR for the North American businesses. In this role, Tami leads a team focused on delivering the global Danone mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible. In her first year at Danone, Tami has been instrumental in the organizational design process as the business has integrated people, policies and processes following Danone’s acquisition of WhiteWave Foods. This merger created DanoneWave, the top organic food maker and largest public benefit corporation (PBC) in the U.S., with a combined portfolio of beloved, trusted and pioneering brands in fresh dairy; organic dairy; plant-based; fresh foods; and coffee creamers and beverages. DanoneWave is one of the top 15 food and beverage companies in the U.S.
Tami and her team are also focused on enabling the continued success of the organization through strong talent management and efforts to build a thriving, engaged and values-based company culture to drive performance and deliver objectives around profit, purpose and people. A key enabler of this culture is the company’s passion for Diversity & Inclusion, which not only supports personal and professional growth of employees, but also the business’ ability to better serve changing consumer needs and foster economic growth in communities across North America. Tami has already been focused on building D&I as part of Danone’s formula for success, and has shown personal commitment to finding leading ways to empower women in the workplace.
Prior to joining Danone, Tami spent 24 years in various HR roles for Mars Incorporated. As the Senior Vice President of People and Organization for Banfield Pet hospitals, a division of Mars, Tami focused on building and deploying strategic initiatives to attract, develop and retain top talent. In this role, she provided leadership, vision and strategic planning to incorporate Banfield’s shared values into initiatives and achieve business goals. Before joining Banfield in 2010, Tami led the P&O divisions for Mars Global and North America Food, and for Mars Incorporated in Canada.
