Bringing Entrepreneurs to Our Shores

November 5, 2010

British Prime Minister David Cameron wants to slash public spending and spur economic growth. Cameron’s latest pro-growth idea: a new “entrepreneur visa” to bring skilled workers and job creators to the UK. "Cameron says he wants to create better conditions for the private sector to generate the jobs and growth that the public sector will no longer be able to provide. "The proposed new 'entrepreneur visa' would allow people with great business ideas and the backing of serious investors to set up shop more easily in Britain."

The week after next, the National Chamber Foundation is hosting a big event on entrepreneurship and I’ll be on a panel to discuss immigration and entrepreneurship. I am sure this idea will come up. Tea Party Republicans who want to slash spending need to couple it with a growth agenda. Cameron’s idea should hold some appeal.
