Discovery Learning Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization using the power of media to transform education and improve lives in marginalized communities around the world. Launched by Discovery Communications in 1997, Discovery Learning Alliance has opened new doors to learning in 16 countries. DLA’s school-based interventions increase student retention, enrollment, attendance and learning. Through teacher training, community action mobilization, and youth clubs, DLA’s approach transforms schools into centers of learning for students and communities. Through mass media, DLA addresses critical education, development and public health issues for tens of millions of people in the developing world.
