7th Annual Hiring Our Heroes Lee Anderson Awards
Each year, Hiring Our Heroes recognizes the tremendous contributions of those who have gone above and beyond to help our nation’s heroes. Awards are presented to companies and individuals that have developed and applied best practices for addressing the employment challenges faced by America’s veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.
About the Awards
Nominations for the 2017 awards are being accepted through September 25. The 2017 award recipients will be announced at the 7th Annual Lee Anderson Awards Dinner. Presented by USAA, this year's awards dinner will be held in Washington, DC, on November 1, 2017.
LEE ANDERSON VETERAN AND MILITARY SPOUSE EMPLOYMENT AWARD
Presented for overall excellence in hiring and retaining veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.
► 2016 Recipient: Lockheed Martin Corporation
STEVE ROBINSON POST-9/11 VETERAN EMPLOYMENT AWARD
Presented for effective and sustained efforts to enhance the ability of post-9/11 veterans and transitioning service members to find meaningful employment in the private sector.
► 2016 Recipient: Hilton Worldwide
WOUNDED VETERAN AND MILITARY CAREGIVER EMPLOYMENT AWARD
Presented for demonstrated leadership in addressing the unique challenges and demands for wounded warriors, spouses, and caregivers in their search for meaningful employment.
► 2016 Recipient: Senator Elizabeth Dole, Elizabeth Dole Foundation
MILITARY SPOUSE EMPLOYMENT AND MENTORING AWARD
Presented for demonstrated hiring and support of military spouses in their search for meaningful employment in the private sector.

SMALL BUSINESS AWARD FOR VETERAN AND MILITARY SPOUSE EMPLOYMENT
Presented for demonstrated leadership by a small business or organization (less than 500 employees) in hiring veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.

COLONEL MICHAEL ENDRES LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR INDIVIDUAL EXCELLENCE IN VETERAN EMPLOYMENT
