Neighborhood Revitalization

\

For the purposes of corporate responsibility this term often refers to projects carried out in a specific community for its general improvement. These projects offer the opportunity for a company’s employees to engage directly in the community in which they work, and usually, to be physically involved in the project’s implementation. Some examples of neighborhood revitalization projects often conducted by companies include:

  • Planting trees and/or flowers
  • Removing trash
  • Repairing or repainting local schools or community centers
  • Cleaning and maintaining of local hiking trails or parks

Why does business engage this issue?

Business, as a collective and a group of individuals, cares about its community. Community revitalization projects like tree-planting or trash pick-up days allow a company’s employees to give back to the community in which they work, and to see the tangible results of their labors. It also allows businesses to interact with members of the community on a personal level.
