In the 10 years since Hurricane Katrina, Entergy has invested $37 million and thousands of hours of volunteer service to create a stronger, better educated, more vibrant and sustainable New Orleans for the future.
In helping the community to rebuild, Entergy has focused its philanthropic and volunteerism efforts in three major areas -- public education, affordable housing, and sustainability/revitalization. Recognizing the power of collaboration, the company partnered with more than 200 New Orleans area non-profits and governmental organizations. Additionally, it aggressively sought opportunities where Entergy's resources could leverage other sources of funding and challenged partners to collaborate with others to develop innovative solutions to common problems.
