Gary A. Naumick is senior director of Engineering for American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company. In this role, Mr. Naumick is responsible for directing the engineering function for American Water, which includes providing engineering services, strategy, standards, governance and oversight for water and wastewater system master planning; capital budgeting and capital investment management; asset technical standards; design and design management; capital project delivery and construction management; and support to operations, environmental management, and rates functions.
Mr. Naumick began his career with American Water in 1986 as a senior planning engineer. His subsequewnt positions included director of Planning and director of Planning & Strategy and Capital Investment Management, before being appointed to his current role in 2008. He has been in charge of American Water's asset planning program since 1988.
Prior to joining American Water, Mr. Naumick served as an environmental engineer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Mr. Naumick is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also an active member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and has served on AWWA's Conservation Committee. Since 2005, he has served as a faculty member for the Institute of Public Utilities Regulatory Studies Program.
Mr. Naumick received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
