John leads our Advisory practice in the upper Midwest, serving clients from the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond.  He brings his experience from our US Deals practice-- focusing on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures -- the tenacity and potent ability to get to the heart of the matter in the complex world of dealmaking and is known as an innovative and strategic leader.  This extends to assisting our clients with the challenges they face and bring our Firm’s cross functional capabilities to the table.

John’s commercial acumen and focus on value enables a persistent defining of the "can be" potential of an issue, built on knowledge and actionable business levers.    His outstanding track record has been heightened by his active involvement in shaping the strategic direction and thought leadership of his practice and teaming with his colleagues and the community to produce exceptional results.   John’s insight is often sought after by the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, Investors Business Daily, TheDeal and others.

Empowering others and giving back is an integral part of John’s life – he channels his leadership talents to forward economic empowerment in his community.  Currently, John chairs the Tocqueville Cabinet of the Greater Twins Cities United Way, and serves on the Citizen and Donor Engagement Committee of the Board.

He is also a Director and Treasurer of Jeremiah Program whose mission transforms families from poverty to prosperity though education, employment and mentoring, uniquely addressing this cycle two generations at a time.

John was honored as a member of “40 Under 40” in recognition for his civic and professional contributions by the Minneapolis/St. Paul business community.

John spent 3 years working in our London office, as well as Chicago and Minneapolis.

John received his Masters in Business Administration at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

John is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
