Carlos Figueroa recently transitioned into the field of community relations, after 20 years in human resources. He is currently the Vice President of Engagement & Volunteerism at Travelers. Prior to his transition, he led the company’s talent acquisition function for nearly four years. His extensive background in recruitment and diversity management, as well as his experience working with a number of external associations and boards, has helped Travelers increase its overall presence in the entry-level and diversity employment markets.
He has held varying positions at AETNA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, ADVO, Travelers, INROADS and Capital Region Workforce Development Board. Many of these roles were in management, including Operations Manager for INROADS, Director of University Relations for Aetna and Manager of Employer Services at Capital Region Workforce Development Board.
Carlos has also served on many boards, including the Capital Workforce Partners, National Association of Colleges and Employers Diversity Council, PRIMER, The Harford Board of Education School Governance Council, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and Leadership Greater Hartford.
