Apple - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

Apple’s committed donations to the global COVID-19 response has reached $15 million worldwide. The donations are to both help treat those who are sick and to help lessen the economic and community impacts of the pandemic.

The company also announced that it is matching employee donations two-to-one to support COVID-19 response efforts locally, nationally and internationally.

Apple has donated millions of N-95 masks to healthcare professionals and worked with the administration to develop an app to allow users to screen themselves for coronavirus symptoms.

Apple will be offering unlimited sick leave to hourly employees, including retail workers, if they experience symptoms that could be related to a COVID-19 infection, and they do not have to get a doctor’s note for the time off.

Apple and Google will be launching a comprehensive solution that includes application programming interfaces (APIs) and operating system-level technology to assist in enabling contact tracing. Given the urgent need, the plan is to implement this solution in two steps while maintaining strong protections around user privacy.
