Bayer - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

Bayer is supporting the fight against the corona pandemic in Spain with a comprehensive aid package. The company is donating €800,000 ($867,156) to the national health system in Spain for the purchase of urgently needed medical equipment and hospital beds. Further contributions of more than €100.000 ($108,394) include the donation of test equipment for the diagnosis of Covid-19 to one of the research centers of Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), as well as support for the “Coronavirus Emergency in Spain" program of the Red Cross.

Bayer will donate nearly EUR 2 million ($2,167,890) to help fight the pandemic Covid-19 in France and Brazil.

Canadian organization Bayer Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, will partner with the Population Health Research Institute (PHRI) in launching a major clinical research program aimed at identifying potential treatments against COVID-19. It will support the program with a financial commitment of CAD 1.5 million ($1,066,927) and the supply of products.

Bayer Mexico is producing and donating sanitizers and face shields. So far, a quantity of 1,000 liters has been generated, another 10,000 liters are currently in preparation. In addition, a converted 3D printer in Lerma, Mexico, is now producing transparent face shields. Bayer donates both to hospitals, health centers and other health facilities in the country.

With India Post, Bayer has set up a temporary kiosk with cash, biometric scanners and smartphones at one of its Better Life Farming Centers in Uttar Pradesh.

Bayer announced a donation of one million products to support the health of underserved communities. The products, including over-the-counter medications and multivitamins, will be delivered directly to Americans who can’t easily access them by way of partnerships with Direct Relief and Feeding America.

Bayer also announced it is donating medicines and additional financial aid worth a total of approximately 1.5 million euros ($1,663,950) to support the population affected by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China.

Bayer Thai Co., Ltd contributed Bepanthen Sensiderm to healthcare professionals experiencing skin reactions due to wearing personal protective equipment and repeated use of hand hygiene products to three hospitals: Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thammasat University Hospital and Queen Sirikit Hospital in Chonburi in supporting their fights during the COVID-19 pandemic.
