Midland High School student Hope Kessler was named a finalist in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy’s Saunders Scholars Competition and is preparing to head to Washington, D.C. to compete for up to $50,000 in college scholarship funding and business prize packages.
Kessler’s journey to the national competition began when she was named the local Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) winner of the competition hosted by the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce. Kessler was awarded funding by local investors to launch her business, Quickly Covered, a company that produces custom textbook covers for school organizations to sell as a fundraising tool. Kessler generates a profit from the ad space that is printed on the cover and sold to local companies.
Kessler told the Democrat & Chronicle in Rochester, NY, “I'm working on moving the company completely web-based so schools anywhere, companies anywhere, organizations anywhere could purchase ads from anywhere in the state online."
