The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated a challenge that was becoming increasingly more difficult even before the public health crisis—finding affordable, quality childcare for working parents throughout the country.
Childcare is a two-generation workforce issue, essential to support the workforce of today and vital to develop our workforce of tomorrow. Parents rely on childcare to help them enter, re-enter, or remain in the workforce, but access to affordable, quality childcare is hard to come by.
This report brings together data, research, and lessons learned to guide the development of successful and lasting partnerships between the business and early childhood education communities. In surveys, focus groups, and interviews, we asked business leaders and early education advocates about what compels them to action. Our recommendations are grounded in that qualitative and quantitative research.
A report from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation explores the role of high-quality childcare in building a strong workforce.
The research is clear: high-quality early education is a significant predictor of future success.
