The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation released a new report, “Hiring in the Modern Talent Marketplace.” The report demonstrates that employers and hiring managers are preparing for a world where competencies – not degrees – are the most important factors when filling a job. The findings show that employers are working with higher education to align what is taught in the classroom with the needs of the economy.

In a dynamic labor market, companies large and small recognize the need to invest in their own people, leading to much buzz around upskilling. Upskilling strategies are no longer the exception, but a necessity. The U.S. Chamber Foundation has partnered with employers to apply successful Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) strategies to build internal pipelines and upskill an existing workforce.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Association for Supply Chain Management Foundation (ASCM) today announced the launch of a partnership to develop the next generation of the Talent Pipeline Management® (TPM) initiative, TPM Next. At Talent Forward 2019, the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s premiere national workforce conference, leaders of both organizations shared plans to expand the workforce initiative and formalize a network of talent supply chain managers around the world.
