Zero Waste Zone by Allstate

At Allstate's Northbrook campus, it invested in a food dehydrator to reduce food waste in the cafeteria. The “pulper” acts like a food processor, mulching the food waste into tiny pieces and then draining the liquid. The waste is then put into a dehydrator that heats it overnight to produce a nutrient-rich mulch the company uses in its campus landscaping. The machine processes 18 tons of food waste annually.
