Mike Piskur serves as Program Manager with the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers (GSGP). GSGP unites eight U.S. governors and two Canadian premiers working together as equal partners to grow the region’s $6 trillion economy and protect the world’s largest system of surface fresh water. Mike manages regional environmental protection and economic development programs. He is part of the team developing the Great Lakes Impact Investment Platform, which features various investment products that generate positive environmental outcomes and market-based financial returns. Mike also led the completion of the first regional maritime transportation strategy and the first cumulative impact assessment of water use for the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin. He coordinates GSGP’s public communications and government relations through presentations and published articles. Mike earned a master’s degree in Environmental Planning from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
