Director, Business and State Engagement
Rebekah Stroman is the director of business and state engagement for Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. In her role, Stroman advocates for veteran and military spouse employment initiatives nationwide.
Stroman engages with businesses and industry leaders to build recruitment and retention initiatives for veterans and military spouses. At the grassroots level, she develops community strategies that bring together local chambers of commerce, regional business alliances, and veteran service organizations in a collaborative environment. Stroman works in partnership with government and defense officials across the country on the national and state level to promote the Hiring Our Heroes mission.
Stroman also oversees the program's veteran entrepreneurship and career skills training partnerships and promotes industry-specific opportunities for veterans. She helped develop programs including the Wounded Veteran and Caregiver Employment Program and Employer Roadmap, the veteran hiring best practices platform for employers.
Before joining Hiring Our Heroes, Stroman served in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Executive Office. In this capacity, she worked as an assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer as well as executive assistant to the Chief Operating Officer. Stroman's prior roles include positions within the legal, defense contracting, and government lobbying industries.
Stroman holds a Master of Arts degree in National Security Policy and Intelligence from the Institute of World Politics in Washington, DC. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Clemson University in South Carolina after completing her first two years of military education at the U.S. Naval Academy. She resides in Arlington, VA, where she is an active member of Team Red White Blue (RWB) as an Ironman All World Athlete and competitive long-distance triathlete.
