Best Disaster Response and Community Resilience Program Award

 

Amid the growing complexity of humanitarian action, it is increasingly apparent that staff training is essential to the success or failure of disaster preparedness and response efforts. Recognizing the need for accessible and affordable, high-quality training, Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) created an online platform titled DisasterReady.org. Learn more.

Best Economic Empowerment Program Award

 

According to the Brookings Institution, Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is the most effective anti-poverty program in the United States. Unfortunately, 20% of qualifying workers don’t file for the credit. In partnership with the IRS, United Way, and other community agencies, Entergy sponsors Super Tax Day Events to help eligible customers file for and receive the refunds they have earned. Learn more.

Best Environmental Stewardship Program Award

  In 2008, the Siemens Foundation recognized the need to develop American children into environmental stewards who are prepared to participate in the sustainability movement. As a result, the Foundation created the Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge (WCCTWC), the premier national sustainability challenge that empowers K-12 students to develop environmental solutions that can help change the world. In 2010, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation launched "Fighting Hunger Together" – a $2 billion commitment to fight hunger in America.
