Giving People of All Ages an Edge on Their Future
Technology was one of Xenia’s favorite subjects. When she heard about Capital One Coders at her YMCA, she signed up. Capital One Coders has taught her technology can be fun, and has given her a background in coding that will help her reach her career goals.
Established in 2014, Capital One Coders has served 10,000 students in over 75 schools across the country. The objective of Capital One Coders is to expose middle school students to technology by partnering with schools and community leaders to foster a focus in software engineering. More than 2,500 Capital One volunteers and mentors have taught students through Coders, and shared their passion for technology.
Capital One Coders is one of the many community programs that is part of Capital One’s Future Edge initiative, a $150 million commitment to help Americans succeed in the digital economy.
In addition to helping youth build skills for the 21st century, Capital One’s Future Edge initiative also provides entrepreneurs and small business owners with technology solutions they need to succeed. And they support the financial well-being of people at all stages of their lives in order to help them take better control of their personal finances so that they make the best decisions for their future.
