The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation partnered with founding sponsor FedEx to develop the Readiness for Resiliency (R4R) Program, with additional support from Allstate, American Express, and Fiserv. Our goal is to support small businesses in becoming more resilient and prepared for disasters. We understand that times of crisis can be devastating for communities, and we are dedicated to sharing knowledge, resources, and promoting collaboration to ensure a speedy recovery.

The R4R program is designed specifically for small businesses with 500 or fewer employees. It guides businesses through a three-step process to enhance their preparedness. Once the steps to resilience are completed, business become eligible for grants when a state emergency order or state disaster declaration is made in their county.

Get started with the steps today:

Step 1: Complete the Preparedness Checklist

Download the FedEx and American Red Cross Emergency Preparedness Checklist for Small Businesses (available in English and Spanish). Make sure you have completed an Emergency Action Plan as outlined in the checklist.

Step 2: Register Your Business

To stay informed about the grant application process in case of a disaster in your county, check your program eligibility and register your business in our program database.

TIP: To ensure you receive important notifications when a disaster occurs, please add the R4R team email address, info@disastergrants.uschamber.com, to your contacts. This will help prevent our communication from going to your spam or junk mail.
