Melissa began her career at Capital One, working in Technology, Risk Management, and Human Resources. She played a key role in executive recruiting, collaborating with top executives to build the Retail Bank team. Melissa also helped shape Capital One's first military-focused recruiting team, earning the HOH military spouse employment award in 2016.

After a 3-year career break, Melissa joined Freedom Learning Group, a Private Equity backed EdTech firm, where she established a talent acquisition team. Today, she leads the Military Spouse Program at Hiring Our Heroes, supporting military spouse employment and retention efforts.

Melissa grew up in a military family at Ft. Meade, Maryland, and is currently stationed at Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas City
