National workforce non-profit Per Scholas has been providing unemployed or underemployed adults with tuition-free technology training for more than 20 years. Per Scholas is one of many community partners that is part of Capital One’s Future Edge initiative, which is focused on helping Americans succeed in the digital economy.

Recent Per Scholas graduate Rocio discovered that when you embrace your fears, you can face your future. As she reflects on her time in the program in this video, she shares that participating in Per Scholas was the best decision she could have made. Per Scholas has taught her digital skills such as troubleshooting printers, virtualization, and much more, which have helped her gain the skills and confidence to excel in the tech world.

Capital One’s partnership with Per Scholas has opened doors for individuals from often overlooked communities by exposing them to transformative technology careers. In addition to creating opportunity, closing the skill divide, and achieving diversity in the technical workforce, Per Scholas reports a 400% increase in their graduates post-training income.

Capital One’s Future Edge initiative also provides entrepreneurs and small business owners with technology solutions they need to succeed. And they support the financial well-being of people at all stages of their lives in order to help them take better control of their personal finances so that they make the best decisions for their future.
