From disaster resilience to economic opportunity, 37 finalists show how businesses and chambers can be powerful forces for good.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation today announced 37 finalists across nine categories for its annual Citizens Awards, recognizing businesses and chambers of commerce whose work is helping address challenges facing communities across the country.

“The strongest solutions often start with a straightforward question: What can we do to help?" said Michael Carney, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. "This year's finalists apply what they know best to challenges that affect people's daily lives. We’re proud to highlight this work and share examples others can learn from.”

This year's finalists are finding practical ways to connect people to opportunity, strengthen local economies, support healthier communities, and improve preparedness before crises occur. Their work spans issues as varied as workforce mobility, access to health care, civic participation, food waste, emergency housing, water conservation, and economic advancement.
