The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Orlando are hosting a prioritization and planning workshop on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. The focus is on recycling. This invitation-only event will bring together sustainable materials specialists, recycling planners, government leaders, and other key stakeholders in the City of Orlando, as well as Lake County, Orange County, Osceola County, and Seminole County. We will discuss, plan, and prioritize potential implementation projects that will increase the local recycling rate and will create systems change that will minimize waste and stimulate local economies.
To date, we have analyzed the volume of recyclable materials in the Orlando region finding its way to the landfill. We have engaged Orlando region stakeholders through an on-the-ground workshop in October 2017 and formed the Local Champions group. We have also identified implementation projects that will increase the diversion and processing of recyclables. Now, we are facilitating a meeting of local stakeholders to go from information gathering to on-the-ground action.
This workshop is made possible through support from The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Beverages Florida.
