Solving for Sustainable Plastics

Event Date:
Thursday, December 9, 2021 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

The utility of plastics makes them a key component of our lives, especially when confronting challenges like the pandemic. Yet, how to eliminate plastic waste from the environment remains a persistent obstacle. Fortunately, businesses of all sizes and sectors are making strides in innovation around sustainable plastics. The innovations being deployed span the whole lifecycle of plastics, from new designs and raw materials to creative end-of-use solutions.

As part of its efforts on Sustainable Plastics Innovation, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is convening a panel of business leaders with unique perspectives to discuss gaps and opportunities in sustainable plastics. As part of the dialogue, panelists will discuss how they are addressing one of the most ubiquitous plastics in the economy, polyethylene (PET), and leave the audience with tangible next steps to take in their own sustainable plastics journey.

Featured speakers include:

  • Jennifer DuBuisson, Senior Director Government & Public Affairs, Americas, The LEGO Group
  • Holli Alexander, Strategic Initiatives Manager, Global Sustainability, Eastman Chemical Company
