Sustainability and the Path to Equity

Wednesday, August 5, 2020 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

The sweeping public outcry for equality of opportunity has given rise to a closer examination of how equity can be better achieved in all facets of society, and the environmental space is no exception. Communities of color have long been disproportionately affected by environmental issues, including higher air pollution rates, chemical exposure, and poor food and water quality.

As society reflects on the steps that need to be taken to address systemic inequality, sustainable development presents an opportunity to ensure all communities have access to natural resources such as clean air and water, while increasing economic security through the creation of green jobs and industries.

On August 5, the Chamber Foundation hosted a conversation with leading experts from the field on how communities, NGOs, and the private sector can work together to build a more sustainable economy that helps create opportunity for all.
