“Wells Fargo’s membership in the Veteran Advisory Council will bolster HOH’s veteran and military spouse hiring efforts across the nation and provide support for expansion of the HOH Corporate Fellowship Program—connecting the transitioning military service member talent pipeline with civilian employment opportunities across the country,” said Eric Eversole, president of Hiring Our Heroes and vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Launched in 2011, the Veteran Employment Advisory Council brings together over 40 of America’s largest employers, public-private agencies, and military and veteran service organizations committed to hiring veterans and military spouses, establishing best practice for veteran employment, reporting measures around efforts to hire and retain veterans, providing mentorship opportunities to transitioning service members and spouses, and encouraging small and medium-sized businesses to join in their efforts.
“The financial services industry is at an inflection point in which there is an increasing need to engage and hire diverse talent that is dedicated and hardworking. Among that diversity include our esteemed service members who, for many, have committed a lifetime of service to their country and acquired the skills and leadership needed to thrive in corporate America,” said Diane Gabriel, head of Next Generation Talent at Wells Fargo Advisors. “Wells Fargo values its military service members, veterans and their families and looks forward to expanding its commitment through the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship program.”
