In a segment sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the TODAY Show welcomed two National Civics Bee state champions for a live civics trivia showdown with hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones.
Barrett, from Indiana, qualified for the 2025 National Civics Bee by researching the environmental and economic impact of water quality in his community. Maanha, from Washington state, launched the Washington Initiative for Student Equity (Project WISE) to address education inequalities in her school district. Both students earned their way to a national stage.
