Over the last few years, there’s been a recognizable shift of perspective. The continuance of the care crisis has impacted America’s workforce, families and communities, threatening our economic competitiveness and opening the door to a need for innovative solutions for employers and working parents alike. We’ve witnessed this shift firsthand as child care emerges as critical infrastructure for communities across the globe.

At the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, we believe in harnessing the power of business to solve pressing challenges like the care crisis. We recognize early childhood education as a catalyst for a successful and prosperous life for many and a stronger workforce in the future.

This summer, we were honored to host the first-of-its-kind National Child Care Innovation Summit, a collaboration between the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Next month, on December 3–4, we will host a continuation of the crucial cross-sector conversations held at the National Child Care Innovation Summit: Business Leaders in Action.

This invite-only event, in partnership with Executives Partnering to Invest in Children (EPIC) and presented by the David and Laura Merage Foundation, will bring together business leaders in Washington, D.C. for an intimate, engaging environment of workshops, panels, and networking—designed to turn inspiration into action in their own communities.

What to Expect: A Focused Approach to Child Care Solutions

The summit will feature focused conversations on critical aspects of employer-supported child care:

  • Implementation Strategies: Learning how to move from ideas to action through practical guidance from industry on launching employer-supported child care initiatives, avoiding common pitfalls, and ensuring investments effectively address employee needs.
  • Business Impact & Community Benefits: Exploring how employer investments in child care create measurable community and economic benefits, featuring insights from chambers of commerce and business leaders.
  • Provider Partnerships: Learning how employers and child care providers can build successful long-term relationships, align operational needs, and strengthen the broader child care continuum.
  • Innovation & Sustainability: Exploring emerging models in employer-supported child care, including technology solutions and new business approaches to improve sustainability.
  • Disaster Preparedness & Resilience: Understanding strategies for ensuring child care continuity during emergencies, strengthening everyday operations through preparedness, and building more resilient communities.

Who You’ll Hear From

This summit features a powerful lineup of speakers committed to advancing solutions, including:

  • The Honorable Gina Raimondo, U.S. Secretary of Commerce
  • Reshma Saujani, CEO of Moms First
  • Nicole Riehl, President and CEO of Executives Partnering to Invest in Children (EPIC)
  • Suzanne McCormick, President and CEO of YMCA of the USA
  • Neil Bradley, EVP, Chief Policy Officer and Head of Strategic Advocacy of U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Through this summit, business leaders will develop strategies and partnerships to make child care a cornerstone of their workforce solutions, taking the next step to build stronger families, communities, and businesses across the nation.
