Light a Spark: Empowering Women and Girls in STEM
In coordination with the UN’s 2020 International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11, the U.S. Chamber Foundation with its partners will launch a campaign profiling five women who have found success applying their STEM education in what might be considered unconventional STEM careers. Through captivating video, photography, and storytelling, we will join the voices empowering and inspiring girls to pursue their interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by offering them a new lens through which to see their STEM future.

The current unemployment rate in Iowa is 2.5%, and there are currently 40,000 people on unemployment and 60,000 job openings. As historically low unemployment continues, employers are always looking for opportunities to recruit more workers and also to retain their existing workforce. To solve this challenge, Iowa business leaders have increased wages, offered flexible work environments where possible, and expanded benefits. More recently, one of those benefits is childcare.
