USAA will be returning $520 million to is members. The payment is a result of data showing members are driving less due to stay-at-home and shelter-in-place guidance across the country. Every member with an auto insurance policy will receive a 20% credit on two months of premiums.
USAA and The USAA Foundation, Inc. have committed more than $4.4 million to military-focused, national and local nonprofits to support America’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Military-focused nonprofits will receive a planned $2.3 million investment. Including:
- The Association of Defense Communities/Blue Star Families COVID-19 Military Support Initiative
- Fisher House Foundation
- Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
- USO
- We Care for America Foundation
The funds will help provide meals and emergency financial assistance for military families, care packages for troops deployed overseas, and the development of best practices and policy recommendations to respond to and recover from COVID-19.
In addition, USAA and The USAA Foundation, Inc.’s philanthropic commitment will help address the blood-supply shortage through the American Red Cross and research to create lifesaving coronavirus therapies and vaccines by Texas BioMed Research Institute in San Antonio.
