Exelon has contributed $5.7 million to directly support nonprofit organizations involved in COVID-19 response efforts. The donations target three critical focus areas: hunger relief and basic necessities; financial hardship; and health, specifically the Red Cross efforts to address the critical blood shortage. Exelon is also encouraging employees to support response efforts through its Matching Gifts program (dollar-for-dollar match up to $5,000) and volunteerism, with a focus on donating blood, supporting food banks and virtual opportunities.
The company is also suspending late fees and power disconnections until at least June 1.
