Charlotte, North Carolina-based Honeywell announced that it’s partnered with a consortium of local businesses to help accelerate North Carolina's Covid-19 vaccine rollout.
The partnership with Atrium Health, Tepper Sports & Entertainment and the Charlotte Motor Speedway plans to set up mass vaccination sites across the state with the goal of helping the state administer 1 million shots by July 4. Bank of America Stadium, which is home to the Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Motor Speedway will be among the vaccination sites.
Accelerating Vaccination Across America: There is no greater priority for Honeywell than to support the effort to defeat the pandemic and enable a strong economic recovery. Through a case study in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 22-24 and January 29-31, Honeywell helped deliver more than 36,000 vaccinations to people in 70 counties in North Carolina. During the last event, Honeywell delivered approximately 9,000 vaccinations a day. This equates to a shot every 4.5 seconds. People from communities of color received 30% of vaccines. The check-in time was reduced from ten minutes to 30 seconds. Honeywell's goal is to reach one million vaccinations by July.
This success was driven by a public-private partnership between Honeywell, the State of North Carolina, the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Atrium Health, and Tepper Sports & Entertainment.
There are two critical areas where Honeywell can help now. Honeywell can support Last-Mile Vaccination by simplifying administration of patient vaccination from pre-arrival scheduling to discharge. Honeywell can standardize the vaccine supply chain with trusted and secure track-and-trace. Honeywell can also deploy advanced manufacturing techniques and data analytics to maximize vaccinations.
Honeywell can support critical PPE Supply through 13 U.S. based manufacturing facilities. Honeywell is producing 75 million N95 respirators each month as well.
