The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation announced today the next phase of the Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) initiative, the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s signature workforce development initiative. With a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the U.S. Chamber Foundation is leading the efforts on statewide TPM Academies. Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky have been selected to host these programs. Over the past four years, the TPM Academy has grown into a community of over 300 employers across 21 states.

The 12-month study, Food Truck Nation, reveals the ease and hurdles of starting up and operating a food truck business in 20 of the most active food truck cities across the nation. The study reveals that the burdens placed on owners threaten to halt growth of an industry that for many entrepreneurs has become a gateway to owning a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes, in collaboration with USAA and the Greater Tampa and South Tampa Chambers of Commerce, today announced Tampa as the nation’s newest Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone (MSEEZ). A collaborative effort among the local business, civic, and military communities to address the economic impact of military spouse unemployment and underemployment on 21st century military families, MSEEZ establish geographically-focused employment networks to connect military spouses to local career opportunities.
