New Year, New Name: Why We’re Changing Our Healthy Business Campaign Name
We’re now at the mid-way point of our exciting ten-city, two year campaign, announced earlier this year, to promote business-led community initiatives – and we’re seeing great momentum.
Working with our collaborative partners, we’ve produced five excellent forums in Denver, Orlando, Oklahoma City, Fort Worth and Memphis. Each convening has sparked a meaningful dialogue on why health matters and what we can do to improve community health through economic empowerment.
We’ve met a lot of great people along the way and heard compelling stories about what people are doing to make a difference. We’ve shared cost-effective, high-impact ideas, received positive media coverage, and we’re putting together a powerful coalition of people to drive the campaign forward in 2016 and beyond.
That said, we realized that our old name didn’t quite do the trick in terms of conveying our message in a simple, easy-to-understand way. That’s why a strategic decision was made by the campaign partners, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to change the name, effective January 1, 2016.
Our goal is to transition from the existing campaign name, “Better Health Through Economic Opportunity” to the “Health Means Business” campaign. We’re excited that our new name is easier to say and more reflective of our mission to promote business-led community wellness. We hope our new name will enable us to create continued momentum as we engage stakeholders, business and community leaders, health champions, media, and the public at large. We want this to become a rallying cry behind which our stakeholders can engage.
Our soon-to-be-unveiled resource center and all of our marketing collaterals will reflect our new name. This is an exciting change and a natural progression as we move forward with five more forums, the “Healthy 10 Awards,” and eventually our National Summit.
We’re happy to announce the new “Health Means Business” campaign and we look forward to working with you in the New Year!
