On March 13th, 2020, we closed our physical doors as schools and businesses around the country closed due to COVID-19. When the news of closures hit our community, our families faced the threat of unemployment, evictions, food and income insecurity, and inadequate access to resources like broadband.
Beyond 34

We launched “Beyond 34: Scaling Circularity for a Sustainable Economy” five years ago to understand the barriers and opportunities in recycling and recovery optimization in U.S. cities, and what role the private sector is playing to increase collection and materials reuse at regional and national levels. Today, we are excited to announce that we are not only bringing Beyond 34 to new regions, but also offering a crowdsourced Recycling and Recovery Resources Hub so more stakeholders across the nation can access critical resources to prepare their communities for a sustainable future.

The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged every aspect of our daily lives and countless individuals and families around the world have—and continue to—suffer because of it. On January 18, we will honor the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service, remembering those who fight for equality and dedicate themselves to making the world a better place. Given the events of 2020 through today, the National Day of Service reminds us that it’s more important than ever to give back and lift up our communities.
