- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation today released a new report, “Piecing Together Solutions: Working Parents, Childcare, and COVID-19,” examining how working parents of children under the age of six are navigating childcare during the coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19 has altered the work environment of nearly 90% of working parents and caused two-thirds to adjust their childcare arrangements.Last week the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s Corporate Citizenship Center held its 9th annual Building Resilience Through Private-Public Partnerships Conference. Three key themes emerged on building resilience amid Covid-19 and how we can be better prepared for future emergencies through greater collaboration across sectors.We sat down with business leaders driving the global corporate response to COVID-19 to learn more about their efforts, how they are navigating this uncharted territory, and what advice they have for others. Next up in our COVID-19 Business in Action interview series is Kenny Thompson, Head of External Affairs, PepsiCoToday, the Center for Education and Workforce’s T3 Innovation Network™ is launching a new resource hub to support the development of learning and employment records (LERs). LERs are digital records that will document learning wherever it occurs, including at the workplace, through an education program/experience, or through military training.Parents must consider various factors in determining the level and type of childcare solutions that best meet their needs. These factors make up what we’re referring to as the ‘Childcare Equation.’As the number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to increase, this is a critical time to review your actions in March and April so that you may identify gaps in processes and procedures and be better equipped and organized.
