President and Co-Founder of Humanity Road. Humanity Road was founded in 2010 to help the public impacted by disaster receive aid and the organization has provided life- saving support to tens of thousands of people impacted by disaster. Nonprofit leadership is an encore career for Ms. Thompson who has more than 30 years of experience building and leading mission based large cross-functional work teams. In her career with the telecommunications industry she deployed advanced voice, data and video communications products and established and managed diverse work groups. She deployed the Verizon brand after the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE, and managed the deployment of the award winning FiOS product for Verizon. She designed the concept for the award winning Verizon Avenue Rural Broadband Initiative that has helped bridge the digital divide.
Christine has leveraged her deep understanding of voice and data communications products, and skills on how to communicate business requirements for systems design and development into a passion to help people after disaster. As the chief executive officer of Humanity Road, she also leads the cybersecurity, and process improvement operations for the organization. Humanity Road assists companies and organizations in development of ontology and pattern recognition for artificial intelligence that can help save lives after disaster. In 2018, she was recognized as one of the top 100 difference makers in the USA by TIAA. She has served as a member of the Department of Homeland Security Virtual Social Media Working Group, the FEMA Innovation team; and has been active in her community Local Emergency Planning Committee and Fire Department auxiliary.
