COL Brad Martsching is the Chief, Joint Plans Division of the National Guard Bureau Strategy, Policy and International Affairs Directorate. As an infantry officer he has commanded at the company and squadron levels and as an Army Strategist he has served as a Director, Division Chief and Senior Policy Advisor. He has 14 years of experience in airborne, reconnaissance, and long-range surveillance units and deployed for combat operations. His most recent assignments include Fellow, later Director, in the Chief of Staff of the Army’s Strategic Studies Group (renamed Army Future Studies Group), Chief, Strategic Plans and Policy Division, Army National Guard G5, and Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Reserve Forces Policy Board (RFPB) in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington DC. COL Martsching holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Coe College, a Master of Arts degree from The American University, and a Master of Science degree from the Joint Forces Staff College.
