Greg is the President and CEO of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) and has been working with volunteers, community development, and disaster response/recovery for over 30 years.
National VOAD, an association of organizations that mitigate and alleviate the impact of disasters, provides a forum promoting cooperation, communication, coordination and collaboration; and fosters more effective delivery of services to communities affected by disaster. Comprised of 68 National member organizations and partners (75% faith-based) and an organization all 56 States and Territories. Members engage through the full disaster cycle - Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation.
Previous to leading NVOAD, Greg served as a New York State Trooper, led the United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) program for the Northeast, and was the Executive for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) U.S. Disaster response program. He has led humanitarian aid teams to over 40 countries and to most declared US disasters since 2000. In addition, Greg still operates several small businesses in the upstate NY town of Cortland , where he resides with his family.
